Brock Lesnar, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion is again suffering from diverticulitis, one of the most common digestive disorders particularly found in large intestine. Thats why Lesnar has withdrawn from his next months UFC 131 fight against junior Dos Santos. He had also experienced diverticulitis two years ago.
On talking about his health, he said that this digestive disorder isnt as serious this time, and hes not retiring. He called this a bump in the road. Further he continued to say that he has been feeling symptoms from last three months and felt weak in training. So, he is deciding whether to have a surgery or face the prospect of dealing with the condition for the rest of his life.
He made an announcement on a UFC conference call yesterday and said that he dodged a bullet about two years ago with diverticulitis, at that time not knowing what the problem was? He said that diverticulitis is an illness that never goes away. It’s something that he has dealt with since his first occurrence and has been battling with it. It’s just something that’s in your colon for the rest of your life, and he has been able to maintain it to the point that it’s tolerable. He was able to go through two training camps — Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez — and made it through those camps without having a bout or any symptoms.
In the UFC 131 event, that is going to occur next month against the Brazilian Junior, Dos Santos at the Rogers Arena, Brock Lesnar will be replaced by Shane Carwin and the one who wins will get shot at heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
