A 19-year-old boy, Sarfraz Shah was killed in Karachi at a point blank range by Rangers, even though he was begging for mercy. Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) ordered to eradicate DG Rangers Sindh and IG Police Sindh within three days over the extra-judicial killing act of a young man by the Rangers.
It is reported that the Supreme Court took suo motu notice of cold blooded killing of a young man, Sarfraz Shah by Rangers personnel on Thursday and summoned the following for appearance in the apex court:-
DG Rangers Sindh Maj. Gen. Chaudhry Ejaz
Sindh Chief Secretary Abdul Subhan Memon
IG Sindh Fayyaz Leghari Federal Interior Secretary
And Sindh Home Secretary.
To heard the case, a five-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary. On hearing the case, the chief justice said that the Rangers are involved in target killings instead of stopping it. DG Rangers and IGP should have resigned after the incident.
The Chief Secretary Sindh pleaded his guilty of civil administration failure. While the interior secretary told the court that Rangers are under the administrative control of Sindh government and the deployment notification is revised after every three months.
The chief justice said that two days have passed, people havent slept out of grief and shock and you did nothing. Chief Justice, Iftikhar appointed top police official, Sultan Khawaja to investigate the matter and submit his report to the court within seven days.
