Ground zero mosque is a very hot issue in New York now a day.
Actually, ground zero mosque is a non-profit project of Cordoba
institute to build a Muslim Cultural Complex consisting of a mosque
near the site of place where 9/11 incidence occurred in 2001.
This cultural complex is facing political support and as well as
political opposition. On Friday, Obama joined a Ramadan dinner at
White House and addressed to the guests regarding ground zero mosque.
By supporting this project he stated that I am very pity for the
victims of 9/11 attacks made by Al Qaeda. But each individual, nation
and country possesses religion freedom. Muslims has a right to build a
mosque. We should not snatch their right because it looks very odds
with American values. The construction of mosque is according to law
on private place. Those who are opposing the Islamic Complex are under
estimating the Americas claim of religion freedom.
He also stated that I want to repair the relations of Islamic world
and America. It is impossible to wish peace without changing the
concept of Islamic world about America.
Meanwhile, a republican running for governor said that I would stop
the mosque as I elected and will use this place as a war memorial
instead of monument for Muslims.
A research is conducted about this ground zero mosque. About 68% New
Yorkers are opposite to build this. The reason of this opposition is
that the level of anti- Muslim hysteria is increasing day by day.
