Sharks
Sharks, the monstrous creature as everyone knows that sharks have strong sense of smell. To check this, throw a chunk of salmon and see amazing reaction of a shark.
Erin Carter, an aquarist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium have experience to work with many species of shark. He told that the sharks know right way when any scent or smell hits the water. The popular legend suggests that these aquatic mammals can detect a drop of blood in an Olympic-sized swimming pool or a mile away in the ocean. Is it true???
This statement may or may not be true whatsoever but it is right that it makes people afraid as if they bleed into the ocean, sharks are going to sniff them and will eat them.
The scientists in Florida decided to put it to the test and they found that sharks don’t repute their action live in the movies, pages of scientific journals, and in documentaries.
Like human beings, sharks have separate openings for their breathing and smelling. There are gills on the side of sharks head that they used to capture oxygen in the water, two nostrils for the detection of smell. In their cavity, there are tissues folded over plates called as lamellae. According to scientists, perhaps this long area is used for better smell detection.
Anyhow, research is going on and analysts are trying their best to find out the result as it has been rightly said,
Science leaves a little room for further exploration
So, we can only wait to find out the answer as it is better for us.!
